I. ACADEMICS

Each semester, the classes' timetables change. Check the most readily available timetables for both schools in this link. Depending on your subjects of interest, you can simulate your future timetable and plan for overlaps using these guides:

As soon as you have done your proposal of schedule, please inform us for doing your enrolament before your arrival. You wouldn't be enroled without a schedule.

Once you arrive to Castelldefels, you must come to the International Office in order to sign your enrollment document.

IMPORTANT DATES

You should keep the enrollment calendar for international students in mind. There may be some differences between each school within our campus, you can find more information here. 

 Please, bear in mind that the UPC has an academic year of two semesters:

Autumn semester (QT): from mid-September to late January (including examination periods).

Spring semester (QP): from mid-February to late June (including examination periods).

     2. CHANGES OF THE LEARNING AGREEMENT AND ENROLLMENT

In case two subjects overlap you might need to choose another subject. In that case, your learning agreement will have to be modified and signed again by all parties. You will have approximately two or three weeks after the lessons start to do modifications of your learning agreement but we will give you the exact calendar at the welcome meeting.

     3. SIGNING ONTO ATENEA

Once you have selected courses and groups that allow you to assist to all the lessons, we can continue with the enrollment. It is right after this moment that you can upload your photo in order to receive your Student Card and the credentials (username and password) to access the academic system.

     II. EXCHANGE SITUATION

     1. LEGAL STATUS: VISA, NIE AND INSURANCE

The UPC has put in place a website detailing important information on how to obtain or renew legal documents. For instance, to apply for a student visa, you should refer to the following link and for the legalization of the student visa for non-European citizens you should follow these instructions. Remember that if any of your legal documents is lost or stolen during your stay, check this webpage.

     2. ACCOMODATION INFORMATION

The general website for student accommodation (residences, rent a flat, flat-share with other students, etc.) is Resa.

The UPC also offers information about halls of residence in Barcelona and neighbouring area in the following link. On this website you will also find a notice board, student housing offers who seek rooms and flats to share, solitary housing (flat-shares with the elderly) and also subsidised room rentals for young people.

Finally, Castelldefels’ campus features its own residence hall, known as the Pius Font i Quer Residence Hall. You will be able to apply for accommodation if you come within the normal semester dates (please, make sure that your booking has been done before coming).

Please bear in mind that in any case you will be responsible of finding your own accommodation.

     3. PERSONAL DETAILS

Remember that right after your enrollment we will need to update your personal details with the details related to your stay in Spain:

     5. SUGGESTIONS FOR LIFE ON CAMPUS

The EEABB (Barcelona School of Biosystems and Agri-Food Engineering) and EETAC (Castelldefels School of Telecommunications and Aerospace Engineering) schools are integrated inside the Baix Llobregat Campus (CBL), which belongs to the Mediterranean Technology Park (PMT). The surroundings are composed of different reference research centers such as: ICFO, CIMNE or the CTTC; the results of the development, innovation and cooperation of different companies with the education of the two schools.

Very close to the campus, five minutes away by foot to the East, you will find a very unique Catalan sports venue: the Canal Olímpic de Catalunya, where rowing, canoeing and skating, among other sports, are practiced.

Castelldefels’ town center and all of its services, such as shops, banks, football fields, etc., are located just ten minutes away from the campus. That being said, near the campus, there is a shopping center called Ànec Blau (open all year round), with shops, restaurants and a cinema.

With an average of 300 sunny days per year, clean beaches with clear water and warm weather temperatures, Castelldefels is one of the pearls of the Mediterranean Coast. Castelldefels is a paradise to practice water sports the whole year round and enjoy Mediterranean culture, food, art, celebrations, shows and spectacles.

Furthermore, the schools organize every year a campus party, featuring free introductory classes of different sports, football and basketball tournaments, surprises and prizes, and several live bands and DJs overtaking the main stage. Furthermore, popular food and cheap drinks will be sold all-day long and there will be an after-party bus bringing you directly to one of the biggest clubs in Barcelona
