ABSTRACT:

This talk will summarize the main results achieved during the execution of the project: high frequency and optical devices (Dispositivos ópticos y de alta frecuencia), financed by MINECO of Spain. The results regarding an Otto chip for surface plasmon resonance based optical sensing will be described. Micromachined coaxial circuits have been developed for 60 GHz applications. MicroElectroMechanicalSystems (MEMS) technology has been used to produce reconfigurable devices operating at V, K and Ka bands.

Ignacio Llamas-Garro is a senior researcher at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC). His research interests include micro and nano-machined structures and reconfigurable circuits using diodes or MicroElectroMechanicalSystems (MEMS) for communications and sensors. He is the current NATO country project director of the grant compact sensor system for unmanned aerial vehicles (Ref. SfP 984809).  Dr. Llamas-Garro is a Senior member of the IEEE, a member of the IET and a member of the EuMA.
